What is a CSA?

CSA stands for “Community Supported Agriculture.” Members sign up at the
beginning of the season and receive a weekly basket of produce and/or
bouquet of flowers each week. The selection of produce and flowers
changes with the seasons. Each week’s box and bouquet are filled with
the freshest goods from the farm, all grown organically and all
harvested at their peak. The 2022 season of the Hidden Villa CSA will run mid-May through mid-October. It will be a shortened season due to insufficient rainfall.
Hidden Villa is a single-farm CSA; meaning we grow 100% of the
food and flowers included in every share and everything we produce is Certified Organic by CCOF.

By joining the Hidden Villa CSA, you are making a commitment to help
support small-scale, organic, regenerative agriculture in this
community. Your support is also helping to raise the next generation of
organic farmers. Hidden Villa is an educational farm. Each season our
two farmers work with a crew of young farmers-in-training giving them
valuable on the job experience learning the skills necessary to start
their own farms and continue the important work of regenerative
agriculture.

In addition, this direct connection between farmer and customer leads to a
more personal relationship and greater community building between
producer and eater as well as between CSA members who share an interest
in sustainable agriculture and good food. CSA members have exclusive
access to our weekly farm newsletter with updates about the farm,
relevant issues and recipes. This year we will be introducing new events
for CSA members to forge a deeper connection to the farm, the farmers
and one another.

Every season is unique with its own successes and challenges. By becoming a
member of the CSA you are signing up to enjoy the bounty but also
weather potential storms and shortages. As CSA members you will always
get the best the farm has to offer.
